The History of Policing

Modern-day policing was birthed out of the slave patrol, whose only mission was to establish a system of terror and harm.

Since its creation in the early 1700s, policing was established to create a system of terror to prevent enslaved uprisings and to return their enslaved humans to their “owners”

As we continue to see the rise of the Palestinian Solidarity Movements throughout college campuses, we are also seeing a surge in police presence in a militarization way.
